ABOUT THE ARTIST

Inspired by landscape. Connected to place.

I am a landscape painter living in Parry Sound, Ontario, surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield and Georgian Bay.

Creating art consumed much of my childhood and eventually led me to study Art at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. After a career in Interior Design, retirement gave me the opportunity to return to my first love—painting.

Much of my inspiration comes from time spent outdoors and from annual road trips across Canada. From the rocky shores and windswept pines of Georgian Bay and the dramatic coastlines of Atlantic Canada to the mountains of the West, I am continually inspired by the vast and varied landscapes of this country. My travels beyond Canada have also provided inspiration, adding new landscapes and experiences to those I bring back to the studio.

Working primarily in acrylic, I am drawn to changing skies, water, rugged shorelines and the quiet strength of the natural landscape. My paintings are an expression of my connection to these places and an attempt to capture not only how they look, but how they feel.
